Dr. Emdad Khan, founder, president and CEO
Dr. Emdad Khan is president and CEO of InternetSpeech. He founded the company in 1998 with the vision to develop innovative technology for accessing information on the Internet anytime, anywhere, using just an ordinary telephone and the human voice.
As a pioneer in the Internet voice space, Khan is a frequent speaker at Natural Language, Voice-Recognition, Internet applications, bridging the Digital and Language Divides and other academia & industry conferences and trade shows. He holds 23 patents and has published more than 60 journal & conference papers on the advent of Intelligent Internet, content rendering, Natural Language Processing/Understanding, Big Data, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Neural Nets, Fuzzy Logic, Intelligent Systems, VLSI and optics. Khan’s acute technical knowledge and keen understanding of emerging markets has played an important role in the development of InternetSpeech’s key products/services including netECHO (Voice Internet that delivers complete Internet access via voice and any phone) and SEBLA (Semantic Engine using Brain-Like Approach).

During his career, Khan invented, defined, developed and deployed worldwide new intelligent software products for micro-controller-based home appliances. He has also created and deployed speech recognition Internet applications. He has 20 years of experience with large semi-conductor companies, including Intel and National. He has also 7 years of experience in academia.

Khan is doing active research. His current major interest is to use brain-like and brain-inspired algorithms to solve some open problems, especially, NLU (Natural Language Understanding) which is very well aligned with InternetSpeech’s next generation products & services to allow users (especially bottom of the pyramid people) to interact with the Internet using their natural language, and thus help their economic, social and other developments. Solving NLU problem using a Semantic Engine has numerous applications including Intelligent Search, Intelligent Information Retrieval, Question & Answer System, Summarization, Big Data, Analytics and more. These can be used in Biology, Economics, Finance, Manufacturing, Agriculture and the like; and are critical for Economic, Social, Cultural and other developments with increased World Peace, with special focus on Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

He is the author of the book “Internet for Everyone: Reshaping the Global Economy by Bridging the Digital Divide”.

Khan has taught courses at universities and industry conferences on VLSI, Neural Net, Fuzzy Logic, Artificial Intelligence, Speech & Natural Language Processing, Algorithms & Software Engineering. He holds a Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering & Engineering Management, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

Larry McArthur, Vice President of Business Development
Larry has an extensive background in starting, growing and managing successful global high tech companies over a thirty-year period for IBM, Gould, Silicon Graphics, and others. He has had direct P&L responsibilities with both public and private companies and is best known for his analytical and creative management strategies. He has founded four high tech companies and turned around three. Mr. McArthur has bought and/or sold 20 companies and has raised over $250 million in capital for his companies in the U.S., Asia and the EU. Mr. McArthur has been active in China and Asia for over 30 years and has an extensive network of high-level government and industry contacts in the region. Mr. McArthur is a global dealmaker with significant operating experience in a variety of high tech industries including software, high performance computing, Internet security, life sciences, military and control systems.

Most recently Mr. McArthur was Chairman of Greater China for Silicon Graphics based in China. He reorganized SGI’s operations across Greater China, India and the Asia Pacific. SGI’s China operation was a troubled business unit when Mr. McArthur arrived. He left an organization that was profitable and growing by 50% a year and received the SGI Asia Pacific Hero award.

Jeff Griffin, vice president of marketing & sales
Jeff has over 16 years of experience in worldwide marketing and sales in speech technology, language translation, and unified messaging (e-mail, voice and fax). Prior to joining Internet Speech, Jeff was VP of Sales for MailVision LTD., where he led the successful introduction of MailVision into the U.S. market, closing contracts with ISPs, Portals and VoIP Telcos. Prior to MailVision, Jeff opened and led Lernout & Hauspie's (L&H) Silicon Valley sales and engineering office, building and maintaining the largest sales quota worldwide and leading the effort to penetrate the voice portal market. Prior to L&H, Jeff ran Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Centigram Communications Corporation's (now ADC) technology business unit where he tripled the number of OEM licensing agreements in less than one year and continually met or exceeded revenue quotas under the MBO program.

Jeff has an MBA from San Jose State University, BS/BA in Industrial Relations from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In addition to his key roles as VP of Sales and Marketing, Jeff also helps in business development and refinement of strategies.

Dr. George Yan, director of applications
George Yan has worked in the software industry for 13 years. He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Dr. Yan has worked in the areas of web programming, enterprise computing, multi-tier distributed systems, and network programming using HTML, XML, ASP, JSP, IIS, C/C++ and Java. Most recently he was at Blue Martini Software as Director of the e-Commerce group. Prior to Blue Martini Software, George worked at E-stamp Corporation, Kanisa Inc, IBM Santa Teresa Lab and AS/400 Division, as Manager and software engineer. George also taught at California State University at San Marcos as Assistant Professor of Computer Science for two years. He has published number of papers in various areas including Parallel Algorithms and Neural Networks in respected Journals.

Rajesh Bhatia, director of software development
Rajesh Bhatia has worked in the software industry for 11 years. Prior to joining the company, Bhatia co-founded eBoodle.com, a provider of online shopping and wallet services to consumers, and served as the company’s director of engineering. In that capacity, Bahatia participated in all areas of the company's growth including strategic planning, customer support and business development. During his tenure at eBoodle, Bizrate.com acquired the company and Bhatia continued as the company’s director of engineering. Prior to eBoodle/Bizrate, Bhatia was an architect/lead engineer for Risk Management Solution Inc., where he developed various insurance applications that were adopted by top insurance companies across the United States. He has also worked for Zenith Computers as a sales engineer. Additionally, Bhatia has also co-authored a book on Oracle. Bhatia holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Bombay University.
